Solar Eclipse 2024 and the Illinois Climate Network
On April 8th, the United States, from Texas to Maine, will experience a total eclipse. The path of totality will pass through southern Illinois.
The Illinois Climate Network (ICN) will collect 10 second and 5 minute weather data (air temperature, relative humidity, solar radiation, barometric pressure, and wind) from all 19 stations during the eclipse. This data will be combined with that collected by other researchers and networks to study atmospheric changes that occur during the eclipse.
